The Minority Leader in Parliament and Member of Parliament for Effutu Constituency, , has raised concern over a disruption of water supply by the Ghana Water Company within the Effutu Municipality.
According to the Minority Leader, the situation, which has remained unresolved for the past two weeks, has led to hardships for the over 140,000 residents in the municipality and has affected various socio-economic activities, such as public health delivery, education, economic activities, and domestic tasks. "I write to urgently draw your attention to the disruption of water supply in the Effutu Municipality, which has persisted unresolved for more than two weeks.
As of today, I can confirm that the majority of the communities within the Municipality still remain without the supply of potable pipe-borne water.
This prolonged shutdown has created unbearable hardship for a population of over 140,000, and its effects are being felt across every sector of community life," the Minority Leader stated in a letter dated August 20, 2025, addressed to the Managing Director of the Ghana Water Company.
