Tragedy struck the Penkwasi suburb of the Sunyani East Municipality in the Bono Region when a devastating fire engulfed a carpentry shop, claiming the lives of two individuals.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) is currently investigating the cause of the fire, which resulted in the deaths of Reagan Kofi Atuahene and Alhassan Sherif Majeed, as reported by citinewsroom.com on August 19, 2025.
The victims were trapped inside the burning building and were unable to escape the blaze.
Their remains have been recovered and taken to the morgue at the Sunyani Teaching Hospital.
