Residents of Assin Nkukuasa were thrown into panic on Tuesday, August 19, after four armed men in military camouflage reportedly stormed the home of Nana Professor Okogyeaman Ameyaw Dankwa Okokroko II, Chief of Assin Wurakese, and whisked him away at dawn.
News of the alleged abduction spread quickly, prompting a swift response from the Central North Regional Police Command.
Patrol teams, intelligence units, and checkpoints across the Central and Eastern Regions were immediately alerted.
By 9:05 a.m., a police operation intercepted a Mitsubishi pickup with registration number GN-833-24 in Asamankese, where the chief was found with four other men.
