The Children's Support Fund, established by President to cater for the welfare of children of victims of the August 6 military helicopter crash, has accrued GH¢2,315,000.

According to a report by citinewsroom.com on August 19, 2025, Dr Valerie Sawyerr, Senior Presidential Advisor on Governmental Affairs and Coordinator of the Fund, noted that the initiative is already enjoying strong support from corporate Ghana.

President Mahama announced the creation of the Fund during the state funeral for the eight individuals who died in the crash, stressing that it would provide long-term support for the children left behind, including their education and general well-being.

The government expressed appreciation to Stanbic Bank Ghana for its seed donation of GH¢500,000, as well as to companies such as Procus GH Limited, GB Foods Ghana, Sunda FM Manufacturing Ltd, Sage Distribution Ltd, Quantum Oil Terminals, Quantum LPG Logistics Ltd, Newgas Cylinder Ltd, and Quantum Terminals PLC for their contributions.
