The Ashanti Regional Police Command has announced the temporary closure of roads in and around the Manhyia Palace as the Asante kingdom prepares to observe the one-week funeral celebration of the Asantehemaa.
The late Queenmother, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, was confirmed to have died on August 7, 2025.
The one-week observation has been slated for Thursday, August 21, 2025.
As part of security measures for the safe and smooth traffic management during the funeral, the following roads leading to the Manhyia Palace will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic: Manhyia Bonjour Road (from Airport Roundabout to Manhyia Palace) Sumankwahene's Junction Road to Manhyia Palace Nick Petroleum Filling Station Road to Manhyia Palace St.
