The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced a general amnesty for party members who were previously suspended or had pending disciplinary cases.

The move was confirmed in a letter from the party's Acting National Chairman, Danquah Smith Buttey, dated August 16, 2025.

In the letter, Buttey stated: "We hereby serve notice that this directive lifts all such suspensions and waives any ongoing proceedings against affected members." Members who previously forfeited their membership are required to submit a formal application for reinstatement.

However, they will remain ineligible to contest any internal party election until a mandatory two-year period has elapsed.
