The Member of Parliament for Wassa East, Isaac Adjei Mensah, has commended Ghanaians for demonstrating rare unity and bipartisanship during the state mourning and funeral rites for victims of the August 6 helicopter crash.
Speaking on Channel One TV's The Big Issue on Saturday, August 16, Mr.
Adjei Mensah said the solemn moment reflected a collective spirit that cut across political and regional divides. "It is important that we all get to know that across the country - North, East, South, and West - we all came together in this mourning situation," he remarked.
The MP, who was present at the state funeral held at Black Star Square on August 15 and the subsequent burial at the Military Cemetery in Tse Addo, highlighted the President's role in ensuring a dignified and apolitical ceremony. "The president provided the leadership, and everybody can bet that we didn't bring in issues of politics and so on," he stated.
