The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) have launched a comprehensive investigation into the recent Z-9 Air Force helicopter crash, with plans to involve both independent aviation experts and the aircraft's manufacturer in analyzing the recovered black box.

Ashanti Regional Minister Dr Frank Amoakohene confirmed that the helicopter's flight data and cockpit voice recorder, the essential "black box", were successfully retrieved from the crash site with the help of local residents and military personnel.

President Mahama announced that a full and transparent inquiry, led by a formal Board of Inquiry, has commenced.

This independent investigative panel will spearhead efforts to determine the cause of the crash.
