Florian Maurice could not hide his excitement as OGC Nice completed the signing of Ghanaian midfielder Salis Abdul Samed from RC Lens.
For the club's sporting director, this is more than just a transfer, it is a well-planned move to strengthen the heart of Le Gym's midfield.
Salis, 25, arrives with proven Ligue 1 experience and a hunger to make an impact after a challenging season in England.
He also spent part of last year on loan at Sunderland, making eleven appearances. "We were looking for dynamism, impact and good energy in midfield," explains Florian Maurice, Le Gym's sporting director. "Salis is a balanced player, with a slightly more defensive profile than his direct competitors.
