The Management of Wontumi TV has apologised to President , the (NDC) and the public over comments made by one of its presenters linking the president to the recent military helicopter crash that claimed 8 lives.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, the station clarified that comments made by the presenter on Saturday, August 6, 2025, does not reflect the views of the station. "Wontumi TV wishes to express its sincere and unreserved apology to President , the (NDC), and the general public over recent comments made by one of our on-air presenters, alleging that the President had a hand in the recent tragic military helicopter crash.

The broadcaster clarified that the remarks made by presenter Akyenkwaa Nana Kofi Asare on Saturday, August 9, 2025, "do not in any way represent the views, position, or policy of Wontumi TV." It further described the comments as inappropriate and baseless, noting that appropriate action would be taken against the presenter. "As a responsible media house, we deeply regret the distress and reputational harm this may have caused to the President, the NDC, and the affected families," the statement said.
