Member of Parliament for Abetifi, Bryan Acheampong, says he is ready to resume work on the Nkawkaw Stadium once he receives the green light from the National Sports Authority (NSA). "It was on the 16th of June that the NSA Director told me to hold on to the work on the Nkawkaw Stadium," Acheampong explained in an interview with Asempa FM. "I'm waiting for his word on when I can resume work.

Any day he gives me the green light, I will continue—whether on radio, TV, or a phone call, I will continue." The NSA had directed that work on the stadium be halted until all legal documentation and approvals are secured.

This followed concerns over the resumption of construction without official clearance from the Authority, which manages the facility.

In 2020, Farahdel Ghana Ltd was contracted by the NSA and the Middle Belt Authority to redevelop the stadium into a modern multi-purpose venue.
