In the wake of recent national tragedies, Razak Abubakar, a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communications Team, has called for stronger security measures at checkpoints across Ghana.
His call comes following two devastating incidents: a helicopter crash that claimed the lives of eight high-profile figures, including Defence Minister Edward Omane Boamah and Environment Minister Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, and a fatal road accident on the Kumasi-Accra highway that tragically took sixteen young lives.
Razak expressed concern about what he sees as a troubling disparity in reactions from the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC). "While the NDC has shown deep concern for the victims of the helicopter crash, they appear less moved by the loss of fifteen young souls in the road accident," he noted.
This perceived imbalance, he warned, has sparked a nationwide debate about how society values human life, regardless of an individual's social status.
