Following the tragic helicopter crash on August 6 that claimed the lives of eight individuals, including prominent government officials, the Presidential Envoy for Interfaith and Ecumenical Relations, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, has issued a stern warning to prophets and spiritual leaders about the new national directive on handling prophecies.
Speaking on Citi Eyewitness News on Monday, August 11, Mr.
Afriyie Ankrah emphasized the importance of obedience to the directive, stating, "There is nothing like an arrest when they defy the directive, but society will judge them if they don't obey. "They used to complain that they did not have access to victims, and now they have been given access." The directive, outlined in a letter dated August 10, 2025, was sent to all Ecumenical Heads.
It calls on faith leaders to ensure that any prophecy or spiritual insight concerning national matters-especially those relating to high-profile political leaders, governance, national security, or public stability-be formally communicated to the Presidency. "We kindly encourage you to inform all Prophets, Men and Women of God under your oversight that any prophecy or spiritual insight of a national nature… should be formally relayed," Mr.
