The former National Chairman of the People's National Convention (PNC), has described the tragic passing of the Minister of Defence, Dr Edward Omane Boamah and the Minister of Environment, Science and Technology and Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Dr Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed as a heartbreaking loss of two incorruptible patriots who lived and died in service to the country.

Speaking to the media after a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the Jubilee House on Thursday, August 7, 2025, he stated that two deceased ministers were his long-time friends. "These two gentlemen, virtually of my age, I can say they died without being corrupt.

They never took anything from anyone for personal gain but served for the good of humanity," he noted.

also recounted how he brought both Murtala and Omane Boamah into the Committee for Joint Action (CJA), where they both played crucial roles in organising public demonstrations and championing national causes. "In the CJA that I was a founding member who later drafted Omane Boamah and Murtala Mohammed also to join.
