The Minister of Environment, Science and Technology and Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Dr Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, perished in a fatal helicopter crash with seven others while travelling to attend an event at Obuasi in the Ashanti Region.

Before his demise, the politician was notably known for his vocal nature in Parliament, where he engaged in intelligent debates and occasionally 'jabbed' the Minority caucus, among other things.

One such video of him in Parliament has surfaced, showing his last appearance in the House during the 2025 Mid-Year Budget Review on July 28, 2025, just 10 days before his demise, where he criticised the Minority Caucus for what he termed their 'unpatriotic' behavior due to their frequent walkouts from Parliament.
