Military investigators have arrived at Sikaman in the Adansi Akrofuom area of the Ashanti Region to begin investigations into the military helicopter crash that claimed eight lives on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.

In an interview with Channel One TV, and monitored by GhanaWeb on Thursday, August 7, 2025, the Assembly Member for the area, Matthew Baah, confirmed that he would be accompanying the military investigators to the scene. "I will be accompanying the military investigators to visit the accident site to assist them as they begin their investigations.

So far, the residents have complied with the directive not to visit the crash scene," he stated.

The Ghana Armed Forces helicopter was carrying top government officials and military personnel to Obuasi for a program on illegal mining activities, as part of the government's intensified efforts to end illegal mining, widely known as galamsey.
