A close source in the Ghana Army has confirmed to GhanaWeb that the helicopter at the center of the rumoured crash somewhere in the Ashanti Region was assigned to the Minister of Defence, Dr Edward Omane Boamah.

According to the source, the chopper was supposedly conveying the minister to Obuasi for an illegal mining event being spearheaded by the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, .
