Chairman of the Concerned Drivers Association of Ghana, William Osei, has made renewed calls on government to provide the Greater Accra Regional Minister with the resources needed to install and repair streetlights in the capital city.

Speaking in an interview with Neat FM on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, Osei said the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Ocloo, had already made a promise to address the situation but certain streets in the Greater Accra Region remain in darkness.

He, however, stressed that without the release of funds from the Ministry of Finance, the project cannot be fully implemented.

He described poor illumination on streets in the capital city as a major hazard for drivers, especially during rainy season. "Sometimes when it rains and you're driving in the dark, you unknowingly drive into a pothole, causing damage to your vehicle and potentially leading to accidents," he explained.
