Former Hearts of Oak midfielder Daniel Kodie has been named the club's assistant welfare manager.  The 31-year-old will work with Henry Martey, the welfare manager, joining the the technical bench of the Ghanaian giants.

Kodie, who spent most of his career with the Phobians, worked with the club's youth team, Auroras, before his promotion to the senior side.

Hearts released a statement confirming his appointment, posting: "Accra Hearts of Oak have confirmed the promotion of Daniel Kodie from their youth side, Auroras FC, to the senior team's technical set-up ahead of the new football season. "Kodie will serve as the Assistant Welfare Manager to Henry Martey, marking another important chapter in his journey with the club. "A true Phobian, Kodie joined the club initially as a promising footballer, but his career on the pitch was sadly cut short due to injury.

The club fully funded his surgery in South Africa.
