The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has released comprehensive guidelines for its upcoming presidential primary ahead of the 2028 general elections, with nomination scheduled to open Tuesday, July 29, 2025.

The rules, approved by the party's National Executive Committee and National Council on Friday, July 25, outline that the nationwide primary will be held in all 276 constituencies on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026.

A potential run-off, if needed, is slated for Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026, a statement signed by the party's General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, said.

According to the statement, prospective aspirants must obtain nomination forms from the office of the General Secretary at the NPP's National Secretariat in Asylum Down in Accra, upon payment of a non-refundable application fee of GH¢100,000.
