The Ghana Education Service (GES) has assured parents and stakeholders that all final-year students affected by the conflict in Bawku will be fully supported to take part in the upcoming West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

Speaking on JoyNews' AM Show on July 29, 2025, GES Public Relations Officer, Daniel Fenyi, said the safety and academic future of students remain the top priority of the Service. "The assurance I can give to all parents and stakeholders who are affected or closely following this issue is that these students will write the WASSCE exams.

There will be no disadvantage to them," he stated.

He described the situation in Bawku and surrounding areas as 'very, very difficult,' especially following violent incidents that claimed lives.
