Black Queens coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren has assured that they will do their best to beat South Africa in the third-place playoff in the ongoing 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). Ghana's hopes of playing in the final git crashed after losing 4-2 on penalty shootouts against Morocco, while South Africa, the defending champions, lost 2-1 to Nigeria in the semifinal games.
Speaking to the media ahead of the game on Friday, July 25, Bjorkegren revealed that the players, staff and the technical team were disappointed after losing to the hosts.
However, the Swiss gaffer said they will do everything possible to win against Bayana Bayana. "We had a group of coaches, staff members, and players who were really disappointed but back on track again and focused on the next game," he said. "We want to do the best we can to win it," Bjorkegren added.
The much-anticipated game has been scheduled to kick off at 19:00 GMT at the Stade Larbi Zaouli.
