The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) headquarters in Accra turned into a rallying ground on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, as hundreds of fans of dancehall star Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr, popularly known as Shatta Wala, thronged the premises to show their solidarity during his detention.
Fans on motorbikes, chanting and smoking Many of the fans arrived at EOCO on motorbikes, chanting his name and accusing authorities of "witch-hunting" the musician.
Some were even captured smoking openly at the premises while waiting for news of their idol's fate. "We will stay here till our king is free," one fan shouted, as others waved placards and sang 's hit songs.
Several supporters claimed they spent the entire night outside EOCO until the artiste's release.
