Morocco women's national team head coach Jorge Vilda has praised his players for their collective effort in securing a hard-fought victory over Ghana in the semi-finals of the 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations.

The Atlas Lionesses advanced to the final after edging Ghana 4-2 on penalties, following a 1-1 draw after extra time.

Ghana struck first through midfielder Stella Nyamekye in the first half, but Morocco responded after the break with a well-taken equaliser from Sakina Ouzraoui Diki, who was later named Woman of the Match.

The game remained level through 120 minutes before Morocco prevailed in the shootout to reach their second consecutive WAFCON final.
