President John Dramani Mahama has pledged decisive action against road contractors who allegedly received double payments during the administration of former President Nana Akufo-Addo.
Speaking during his "Thank You" tour of the Eastern Region, President Mahama revealed that an audit conducted by the Auditor-General had uncovered irregularities in payment records involving multiple contractors. "Contractors found to have received unjustified multiple payments will face legal consequences.
The discrepancies revealed by the audit will be addressed strictly according to the law," President Mahama stated.
He further explained that only contractors cleared by the audit would be permitted to return to site to resume stalled projects.
