A leading member of the opposition (NPP), , has affirmed reports that former President wanted the party's upcoming National Delegates Conference postponed.

Speaking in an interview with JoyNews on Thursday, July 17, 2025, , who was a Vice Chairman of the NPP's 2024 election campaign team, explained that the former president only wanted the conference rescheduled to ensure his availability.

He said that Kufuor, who is currently out of the country, petitioned the National Executive Council (NEC) of the party to change the date of the conference to one that would allow him to return and participate. "President Kufuor had written to request that he would have liked to attend the National Delegates Conference in person.

He is out of the country as we speak.
