The Accra Regional Police Command says it has launched investigations into the series of violent incidents that marred the parliamentary re-run election in Ablekuma North, Accra, on Friday, July 11.
In a statement signed by Superintendent Juliana Obeng, Head of Public Affairs for the Accra Region, the police confirmed that they are reviewing multiple videos capturing assaults and disturbances at various polling stations. "The Command has progressed to obtain statements from complainants and witnesses to aid in the ongoing investigations," the statement noted.

Victims involved in the reported assaults have been issued Police Medical Report Forms to support their medical needs and facilitate further inquiry.
