German-Ghanaian forward Sirlord Conteh's preseason has taken a frustrating turn as he battles to recover from nagging ankle issues.
The 29-year-old forward missed FC Heidenheim's friendly rout of SGM Herbrechtingen/Bolheim, which ended in a lopsided 17-0 result.
He also sat out the initial training sessions at camp, a worrying sign for fans eager to see him back in top form.
Although Conteh wasn't part of full team drills, he did manage to work on his own as part of a careful return plan.
