Black Queens forward Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah has praised Ghanaian fans for their unwavering support after the team's emphatic 4-1 victory over Tanzania in their final Group C game at the 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The result secured Ghana a quarterfinal spot, where they will face Algeria on Friday, July 19, at the Stade Municipal de Berkane at 16:00 GMT.
Reflecting on the win, Boye-Hlorkah acknowledged the early setback when Ghana conceded first, but credited both her teammates and fans for lifting the squad. "We conceded the goal, which I take responsibility for, but then, as I look around, all the girls are picking me up," she said. "That's what we needed today.
That's what the coach wantedâand I told the girls, we need a team." She continued, "I'm so proud of the girls.
