Firefighters from the Sekondi Metro Fire Station successfully rescued a victim trapped in a vehicle early Saturday morning, following a severe road crash on the Kumasi-Shama Road in the Western Region.
The incident occurred when a commercial bus collided with a private car, leaving one person severely injured and trapped inside the wreckage.
According to a statement from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) shared on Facebook, a Dual-Purpose Tender carrying a crew of seven, led by Assistant Divisional Officer I (ADO I) Kingsley Anane, was immediately dispatched to the scene after receiving the emergency call, as reported by myjoyonline.com on July 14, 2025.
Upon arrival, the rescue team found a Kia Rano vehicle pinned underneath a larger Nissan Howo truck, with one person trapped inside; thus, firefighters worked diligently, using specialised equipment to cut through the mangled metal and extract the individual.
