The Black Queens of Ghana put up an impressive fighting spirit on Monday night, thumping Tanzania 4-1 in their final Group C match at the 2024 CAF Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
In what was a must-win game for Ghana, the team scored after just 12 minutes into the first half when experienced forward Princella Adubea deflected a clearance from the Tanzania goalkeeper into the net.
The pulsating encounter that ensued from there saw the Black Queens missing several chances.
This allowed the Tanzanians to grow into the game as they scored in the 41st minute courtesy of an equaliser by Stumai Athumani after she was set up by Enekia Lunyamila.
