The Minister of the Interior, , has addressed the brutal assault on former Awutu Senya East lawmaker, , which occurred during the Ablekuma North parliamentary election rerun.
According to him, the incident is currently under investigation by the Ghana Police Service to determine the circumstances surrounding the assault.
Speaking at the maiden edition of the Government Accountability Series on Monday, July 14, 2025, Muntaka disclosed that he had reached out to to express empathy and assure her of swift police action.
He further indicated that he had appealed to her to cooperate with police investigations should she be invited to provide an account of the incident. "I can assure you that when this nasty, unfortunate incident, which is embarrassing to the political class, happened, I called Hawa Koomson to empathise with her.
