Ghana's Black Queens are through to the quarter-finals of the 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations after beating Tanzania in the final group game on Monday evening.  Princella Adubea gave Ghana an early lead after a quick start by the West Africans but the Taifa Stars levelled through Stumai Abdallah.

Alice Kusi converted from the spot before Evelyn Badu and Chantelle Hlorkah sealed the win late in the game.

The Black Queens headed into the game knowing only a win will keep them in the competition, and wasted no time in establishing their intentions with an early pressure on their opponents.

The early pressure paid off after the Tanzania goalkeeper's strike met Adubea as Ghana broke the deadlock in the 12 minute.
