President John Dramani Mahama has called on Ghanaians to live by the teachings of the Holy Quran - promoting peace, love, compassion, and unity - as essential values for building a prosperous and harmonious nation.
Speaking at the 29th Annual Quran Recital (Maulid) of the Bambawia Islamic Institute in Tamale on Saturday, July 12, President Mahama praised the institute's efforts in deepening spiritual knowledge and strengthening Islamic education in Ghana. "This significant event is a testament to the Institute's dedication to the teaching and recitation of the Holy Quran, fostering spiritual growth and knowledge within the community," he said.
President Mahama also extended special commendation to Sheikh Alhaji Mohammed Lukman Bamba and the leadership of Bambawia Islamic Institute for their role in promoting religious values. "We must adhere to the principles of the Holy Quran - principles of peace, love, compassion, and unity - which are essential for building a harmonious society and a prosperous nation, Ghana," he added.
The President's presence at the event reaffirmed the government's commitment to supporting religious institutions in nurturing moral discipline and national unity.
