Italian-Ghanaian forward Kelvin Yeboah was on target for Minnesota United as they thrashed San Jose Earthquakes 4-1 to climb to second in the Western Conference of the Major League Soccer.  The 25-year-old nephew of Ghana legend Anthony Yeboah registered his seventh goal of the campaign after scoring his side's second in the emphatic victory.

Yeboah rose high to head home Tanitoluwa Oluwaseyi's cross in the 42nd minute to double the advantage after the Nigerian-Canadian had opened the scoring in the second minute.

On the stroke of half-time, Anthony Markanich extended the lead for Minnesota but after the break Bruno Wilson pulled one back for the visitors.

Joseph Rosales scored late to restore Minnesota's three-goal lead as the red-hot side continued their recent run of form.
