Security Analyst Richard Kumadoe has attributed the violence that marred the Ablekuma North parliamentary rerun to poor police strategy and inadequate preparedness, despite prior intelligence suggesting a possible disruption.

His comments follow a violent incident on Friday, July 11, 2025, at the St.

Peters Society Methodist Church polling station, where heavily built men stormed the voting centre, attacking several individuals, including former Awutu Senya East MP, Hawa Koomson, NPP parliamentary candidate, Nana Akua Afriyie, and some Journalists who were on grounds during the chaos.

Despite the presence of police officers at the scene, they appeared overwhelmed and unable to stop the attacks, prompting widespread public criticism of their response.
