Voting has ended in the parliamentary rerun in Ablekuma North, with provisional results beginning to trickle in from the 19 polling stations involved in the exercise.
The rerun, conducted by the Electoral Commission (EC) on Friday, July 11, aimed to resolve a protracted electoral dispute stemming from the December 7, 2024, general elections.
The constituency has remained without a Member of Parliament in the 9th Parliament due to irregularities and disagreements over the original results.
Preliminary figures suggest that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate, Ewurabena Aubynn, is currently in the lead, with the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) Nana Akua Afriyie trailing.
