The Board of Directors of Ghana's National Cathedral has refuted claims that the project is being converted into a cultural convention centre, affirming that the structure will be completed in line with its original design and purpose.

This clarification comes in response to recent reports suggesting a shift in the project's focus, prompting an emergency meeting of the Board on Monday, July 7.

In a statement following the meeting, the Executive Director of the National Cathedral, Dr.

Paul Opoku-Mensah, described the claims as "unfounded" and emphasised that the project has not been abandoned. "The National Cathedral is therefore not an abandoned project.
