A Security Expert, Dr Ishmael Norman, has strongly condemned the recent attacks on former Awutu Senya East MP Hawa Koomson during the Ablekuma North parliamentary rerun.

He directly attributed the violence to inadequate police preparedness and has called for the immediate prosecution of those involved.

Speaking on TV3's "The Key Points" on Saturday, July 12, Dr Norman asserted that the Ghana Police Service should have anticipated the mayhem and preemptively declared the Odorkor Methodist polling station a "hotspot." He criticised their preparedness terming it as being "poor". "Overall, I think the performance wasn't too bad…they should have anticipated the violence and declared the place a hotspot.

The preparedness was poor.
