The Ablekuma North Constituency Secretary for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Frederick Green, has defended the party's decision to boycott the Electoral Commission's (EC) planned parliamentary rerun in 19 polling stations within the constituency.
This follows an earlier announcement by the NPP leadership rejecting the EC's directive, insisting that the party's candidate, Akua Afriyie, secured a clear and legitimate victory in the 2024 parliamentary elections.
Speaking in an exclusive interview on Channel One Newsroom on Tuesday, July 8, Green expressed serious concern over what he described as a politically motivated attempt to overturn the will of the people in a constituency the NPP has historically dominated.
He argued that the party's decision not to participate in the rerun was grounded in principle and fairness, citing examples from other constituencies where the NPP had conceded defeat without protest. "About 17 of them are our stronghold.
