The former Chief Executive Officer of the National Food Buffer Stock Company (NAFCO), Abdul-Wahab Hanan, has been released from the custody of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) after several days of detention.

Mr.

Hanan's release follows growing public pressure and protests from supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), some of whom staged demonstrations at EOCO's premises to demand his freedom.

He had been in custody since his arrest on June 25 over alleged financial impropriety during his tenure at NAFCO.
