Ibrahim Adjei, a former Assistant Secretary at the Office of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has called for clarity from the Electoral Commission (EC) on its decision to conduct a rerun of parliamentary elections in 19 polling stations within the Ablekuma North Constituency-up from an initially known figure of three.

The EC, on July 2, 2025, announced the rerun following disputes over the credibility of results from the December 7, 2024, general elections.

According to the Commission, although scanned results from the 19 polling stations had been signed off by party agents, they had not been duly verified by the respective Presiding Officers, which violates standard electoral procedures.

However, speaking on Breakfast Daily on Channel One TV on July 7, 2025, Ibrahim Adjei questioned the EC's sudden expansion of affected polling stations and urged the Commission to provide a detailed explanation. "We were talking about three polling stations, and they have consistently said three polling stations.
