Lawyers for former traditional priestess-turned-evangelist, Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, widely known as Nana Agradaa, have filed a notice of appeal challenging her 15-year prison sentence handed down by the Circuit Court.

She was convicted on July 3 by Justice Evelyn Asamoah on charges of defrauding by false pretence and charlatanic advertisement.

But her legal team maintains that the conviction was flawed and that Nana Agradaa was denied a fair trial.

Speaking to Citi News on July 7, lead counsel Richard Asare Baffour said the High Court has been petitioned to overturn both the conviction and sentence. "We filed the petition of appeal this morning on the grounds that the judgment delivered by the court is so unreasonable and that the evidence on record does not support it.
