With calm steps and a composed face, Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, exited the courtroom under heavy police escort, moments after being handed a 15-year prison sentence by the Circuit Court in Accra.

As she passed by quietly, her only words were directed at her loyal followers: "Continue praying." The former traditional priestess turned evangelist was convicted for charlatanic advertisement and defrauding by false pretence, following her infamous 2022 money-doubling scam.

In a televised broadcast that aired widely, Agradaa promised to spiritually multiply cash for anyone who brought her money - a claim that lured many Ghanaians into parting with significant sums, only to receive nothing in return.

In court, it was revealed that Agradaa had capitalised on her large religious following and media access to perpetuate the fraudulent scheme, exploiting the desperation and trust of her audience.
