Investigative journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni has shared personal observations of declining food prices in the Bolgatanga Market, suggesting a noticeable improvement in the cost of living and potential political implications heading into the 2028 elections.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, Manasseh recounted a recent visit to the Bolga Market, where he engaged in a conversation about food prices with a shop owner and a companion.

He noted significant reductions in staple items.

According to the individuals he spoke with, a 50-kilogram bag of rice from Burkina Faso, which previously sold for GHS 700, now goes for GHS 480.
