The (EC) has announced that a parliamentary election rerun will take place on Friday, July 11, 2025, at 19 polling stations within the Ablekuma North Constituency.

This decision follows weeks of deadlock between the two major political parties, the (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP), regarding the validity of the constituency's election results.

In a statement issued on July 2, 2025, the EC explained that the rerun was agreed upon after extensive consultations and a thorough review of the electoral process in the affected areas.

According to the Commission, the rerun is necessary because, although scanned results from the 19 polling stations were approved by party agents, they were not verified by the respective Presiding Officers, as required by electoral procedures.
