Ghana's judiciary is poised for a major boost today, Thursday, July 3, as seven newly confirmed Justices of the Supreme Court are scheduled to be sworn into office at a formal ceremony at the Jubilee House.
The occasion, to be presided over by President John Dramani Mahama, is expected to reinforce the highest court's capacity at a critical time in the nation's legal and democratic journey.
The appointments, made in line with Article 144 of the 1992 Constitution, received parliamentary approval following a thorough vetting process earlier this year.
The confirmed judges, most of whom have served at the Court of Appeal, bring with them years of legal experience and are seen as key additions to Ghana's judicial architecture.
