Veteran journalist, Kwesi Pratt Jnr, has called on the government to use the national holiday meaningfully by engaging in activities such as cleanup exercises and promoting tourism across the country.
According to him, such efforts do not only foster national pride and unity, but also enhance productivity and contribute positively to the economy.
He said he believes that turning holidays into opportunities for development-oriented initiatives can yield long-term benefits for the nation.
Speaking on Metro TV's Good Morning Ghana and monitored by GhanaWeb on July 2, 2025, Pratt stated that national development goes beyond prayer and thanksgiving. "The development of this country does not fully rely on prayer and thanksgiving but also engaging in meaningful activities," he said.
