As the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) holds its nationwide elections today June 30, 2025, all signs point to a decisive re-election for incumbent president, Albert Kwabena Dwumfour.

Dwumfour's first term has garnered widespread acclaim for its transformative initiatives across journalism welfare, professional development, press freedom, and institutional growth, earning him broad support among members and positioning him as the frontrunner in this year's polls.

A hallmark of his presidency has been the strategic expansion of training and capacity-building opportunities.

The launch of a five-year scholarship scheme with Wisconsin International University College, along with the organization of over 20 nationwide training workshops, has significantly enhanced professional development for journalists, particularly ahead of the 2024 elections.
