Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Haruna Mohammed, has confirmed that nominations for the party's upcoming presidential primaries will be opened before the end of July 2025.
According to him, the party's constitution requires that nominations be opened after the national delegates' congress, scheduled for July 19.
He emphasised that while nominations are not yet open, the official date will be communicated shortly afterward. "We have not opened nominations.
After the 19th of July, a certain date will be stipulated for the General Secretary to issue a statement for the opening of nominations, and I can tell you that it will be done before the end of July," he said on Citi Eyewitness News on Monday, June 23.
